“Participating in Superior Thinkers Toolbox training with a highly motivated and committed cohort was so enjoyable and beneficial. I thoroughly loved the delivery of the course, the online training and group work established the foundations which were built on in the two hour face to face sessions, these conversations were effortless, two hours of catching up went too quickly and I was always surprised when I reflected and realised how much of the content had been covered via a friendly engaging chat. The training will be applied to both work and life.”

CURRICULUM

The Superior Thinker's Toolbox is based on the principle that “Learning is not Fast Food” participants are exposed to powerful concepts, principles and frameworks that have been continually tested and found to be the most useful tools for transformation.

We have selected frameworks and models that have been pioneered at Harvard, Stanford, The University of Sydney, the US Naval College and deployed personally by our team in their personal and professional lives.

Each module is based on the principle of "Triple Loop Learning" allowing for deep personal reflection that informs new behaviour. Our group learning environment heightens learning, allowing you to delve deeper into the principles presented with a diverse group of people.

Module 4 - Adaptive Problem Solving

Watch the video above at 5min 04sec for a preview of this module.

Turn your attention to the problem to be solved as you deepen your understanding of the potential barriers to change and collaborate skillfully to erase them.

 MODULE INSIGHTS

Balcony Dancefloor
Create an understanding of the bigger picture and view situations and problems from a larger (less personal) perspective. Looking from the balcony enables adaptive leaders to provide language for the situation and facilitate movement toward solutions.

Engaging the factions
Allow disparate views to be heard - those groups of people who are for the change, those who are opposed to the change and those who are just scared of the change; adaptive leaders understand emotional reactions and provide a safe environment where people can explore possibilities.

Cooking the conflict
Deepen the debate among stakeholders. Step in with questions and courageously take risks to go deeper into issues. If sterile discussion takes the place of real dialogue and conflict, then the adaptive leader steps in to deepen the conversation.

Picture

Module 5 - Radical Collaboration

Watch the video above at 5min 50sec for a preview of this module.

Identify and map the stakeholders associated with the problem to be solved. Then learn the skills and approaches to work collaboratively with stakeholders to increase the quality and efficiency of your approach.

 MODULE INSIGHTS

Collaborative intention
Make a personal commitment to mutual success of all parties – by maintaining an authentic, non-defensive presence and curiosity in the work of others.

Self-awareness / empathy
Seek to understand the concerns, intentions, and motivations of others, and have the courage to explore difficult interpersonal issues.

Self-accountability
Take responsibility for your choices. Notice where you act or fail to act, and the intended or unforeseen consequences of your actions. Begin to be more solution focused instead of finding someone or something to blame.
Picture

Module 6 - Purposeful Prioritisation

Watch the video above at 6min 57sec for a preview of this module.

Learn and use an advanced  prioritisation scaffold to incorporate collaboration, design-thinking and agile to progress problem solving in a structured fluid, responsive and engaging way.

MODULE INSIGHTS

Data Insights
Build and pitch a range of hypothesis to gain further insight. Organisations often miss this stage and waste valuable resources (like time) on building solutions that will never be implemented.

Progress / Pivot / Pause
Pitch a range of well-founded options to key stakeholders. This visible progress enables invested stakeholders to zoom in on a desired approach, or to allocate additional resources and deadlines as appropriate. Leaders often discover crossover opportunities at this stage.

Development
In this penultimate stage the refined solution is tracked along appropriate time-lines, with pitch-style progress reporting and clear lines of accountability allowing clear optics for ROI and delivery.
